JOB DESCRIPTION: *** This is a Central BPI Office position. *** Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Administration / Chief Business Improvement Officer, oversees the daily activities related to medium to large-scale BPI projects for Emory University. Directs all aspects of projects. Projects can range from implementing new structures, to designing new processes, to conducting analysis on business functions at the university. Drives the development of project work plans and goals. Manages daily activities of associated BPI Managers, BPI staff, and project efforts with minimal supervision from BPI leadership. Manages several BPI Managers, senior analysts, and analysts in projects. Leads project work and ensures appropriate outcomes for BPI projects. Represents the Office of BPI within the Emory community. Interfaces with Emory business units on BPI initiatives. Works closely with and leads BPI working groups and teams. Strategically drives and leads BPI project working groups, which include other BPI staff and faculty and staff from Emory schools and business units. Leads development of thoughtful, detail-oriented and high-quality qualitative and quantitative analyses to include in written documents, flow charts and/or spreadsheets. Reviews, edits, and prepares documents for BPI working groups, steering committee and governing advisory board. Directly assists Chief BPI Officer with BPI Steering and Governance bodies. Provides thorough written and verbal updates on projects to Chief BPI Officer, BPI Steering Committee, BPI Governing Advisory Committee, and other leaders and stakeholders across campus. Performs related responsibilities as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor's degree and five years of strategic business solutions, management consulting, business process improvement design and implementation, project management or related experience. A master's degree is preferred. Advanced problem solving and analytical (qualitative and quantitative) are required. Exceptional written and oral communication skills essential. Experience presenting to leadership is strongly preferred. Complex project management experience required, including the ability to lead multidisciplinary or multifunction teams. Higher education, healthcare, or not-for-profit experience preferred. Proficiency with MS Office applications.
