*This is an Exempt position. Employees in this position are paid a salary on a monthly basis and are not eligible to receive overtime pay.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Plans, coordinates and is accountable for the major activities of a single division within a department including grants and contracts, clinical operations, development and administration of total budgets over $10 million, financial analysis, data processing operations, and human resources management. Works with the Division Director to develop and administer the capital equipment, operations, and personnel budgets and to establish division short and long term objectives. Negotiates new and renewal grants/contracts. Interviews faculty applicants and recommends candidates for select positions. Ensures effective and efficient office procedures. Handles division human resources issues and is accountable for the hiring, disciplinary, termination, and salary decisions which are made for the division. Prepares various operational and statistical reports. Ensures required record-keeping is maintained. Supervises staff and effectively manages employee performance. Works closely with department administration and acts as a liaison between management and other divisions, schools and departments concerning research issues. Assist in determining and addressing staff training needs. Performs related responsibilities as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A master's degree in business administration, finance, human resources or a related science field and five years of professional business administration or management experience, OR an equivalent combination of experience, education and training. Previous supervisory experience.
