*This is a Non-Exempt position. Employees in this position are paid an hourly pay rate, on a bi-weekly basis, and are eligible to receive overtime pay for any hours worked over 40 in a work week.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Performs all standardized and complex laboratory procedures within area of responsibility. Provides leadership and direction of lower level technologists and other support personnel. May supervise a group of employees within a laboratory or a laboratory section. Provides leadership in the areas of education, research and development, and/or quality assurance.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor's degree in medical technology, or a chemical, physical, or biological science. Certification by one of the following agencies: MT (ASCP), or categorical MT (HEW), MT (HHS), MT (AMT), MT (NCA), CHT (ABHI). Three years of medical technology experience. The bachelor's degree requirement may be waived for a medical technologist who was ASCP certified in the years prior to the bachelor's degree requirement by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists and a HEW/HHS technologist certified by Health and Human Services.
