*This is an Exempt position. Employees in this position are paid a salary on a monthly basis and are not eligible to receive overtime pay.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Coordinates, provides guidance, and performs routine and specialized activities related to the operation of the clinical genetics laboratory. Performs laboratory testing procedures of high complexity. Assists in the review, interpretation, and reporting of complex and routine test results. Helps to coordinate workflow and oversees quality control activities in specialized areas of the lab. Assists in the development of new protocols in clinical and research programs. Provides technical guidance and training to employees and students. Maintains required record keeping. Adheres to laboratory policies and procedures. Performs related responsibilities as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry or a related field and five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of experience, education and training. Certification by the National Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel (NCA) is required if an applicable specialty is available. |
