*This is a Non-Exempt position. Employees in this position are paid an hourly pay rate, on a bi-weekly basis, and are eligible to receive overtime pay for any hours worked over 40 in a work week.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Processes all requests for medical record retrieval from permanent storage area; file new medical records and re-file continuing records; processes all loose filing. Scans medical records in/out for tracking purposes. Delivers and retrieves records from divisions/clinics. Checks outgoing records for proper assembly and correct labeling and verification of accounts requested. Performs clerical and support functions for the medical records department. Answers telephone calls and handles messages appropriately. Receives and directs visitors to appropriate staff in the department. Enters data into a database management system; assists in updating on-line computer system. Designs and generates reports. May assist with release of information. Performs related responsibilities as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) and one year of clerical or secretarial experience. Must have knowledge of legal requirements concerning medical records.
