*This is an Exempt position. Employees in this position are paid a salary on a monthly basis and are not eligible to receive overtime pay.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Coordinates and manages the design and construction of new building and renovation projects. Assists in defining project guidelines, requirements and design/construction criteria. Prepares and administers project budgets; is accountable for the completion of assigned projects within budget. Participates in the selection of consultants and contractors for facility projects, evaluates their pricing and estimates, prepares and administers related contracts, and directs/supervises their activities. Coordinates design and construction efforts among user groups, the operations and maintenance team, the design team and the construction team. Coordinates review of design documents by staff, user groups and county officials. Provides regular project updates and status reports to staff. Oversees project close-out and conducts post-project evaluations. Collects required close-out documentation and forwards to the appropriate areas. May supervise support personnel. Performs related responsibilities as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture or a related field and five years of experience in management of construction projects, and a general knowledge of building codes and building systems operation and design OR equivalent combination of experience, education, and training. Positions within this classification may require an educational background in engineering, architecture or construction management.
