*This is a Non-Exempt position. Employees in this position are paid an hourly pay rate, on a bi-weekly basis, and are eligible to receive overtime pay for any hours worked over 40 in a work week.

JOB DESCRIPTION: *** This is a central university office classification to only be used in Campus Services. *** Supervises activities of zone maintenance personnel for customer services, administrative support and maintenance related activities undertaken by the zone. Coordinates operational plans and schedules crews and facilities using internal and external resources to provide expedient and sustainable solutions to operational issues. Responsible for the zone's departmental budget, ensuring it remains within fiscal constraints. Identifies discrepancies and potential budget adjustments. Approves maintenance requests, equipment replacements and contractor services, as needed. Oversees the inspections of facilities to ensure HVAC, lighting, plumbing, controls and structural systems are in proper working condition. Assists in the preparation of the zone business plan to include MR&R, Capital Renewal Planning and Emergency Response Planning. Monitors and directs work flow by observing and reviewing work performed by staff to ensure efficiency, timely services and a high level of customer satisfaction. Identifies appropriate training to develop employees' skills. Reviews and analyzes reports that summarize achievement of key performance measures. Prepares reports, as needed, to convey the status of the zone. Communicates verbally and in writing using the appropriate media to a broad range of audiences. Utilizes cross training opportunities to enhance and broaden skill levels of zone maintenance staff. Maintains appropriate records on equipment and personnel. Hires, trains, supervises and evaluates staff. Performs related responsibilities as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A high school diploma or equivalent. Eight years of maintenance/construction experience which includes three years in a supervisory capacity. Operational knowledge of various personal computer software packages and mobile applications. Willing to participate in on and off-duty educational opportunities to continually enhance applicable skills/knowledge. Some positions in this classification may require a valid Georgia driver's license, an insurable driving record, the ability to lift 50 pounds and to bend, stoop and twist.
