JOB DESCRIPTION: Provides analytical and technical systems support for budget development, implementation and monitoring. Manages special projects using problem solving skills and systems expertise to facilitate the budget planning process. Provides technical support for budget monitoring and analysis by identifying errors and problems that may arise during the budget cycle and ensuring corrective action. Conducts periodic interviews with cost center managers to review methodology for allocating costs. Compiles, analyzes and prepares reports. Reviews, maintains and updates budget and financial planning system programs and procedures used in the development and implementation of the budget and financial plan. Designs and updates systems and operation manuals and documents end user instructions. Provides technical support for budget development and implementation by reviewing, updating and maintaining various personal computer based systems that support the budget process. Recommends software and hardware upgrades and replacements to improve operations and efficiency. Provides input into departmental goals and objectives. Adheres to departmental policies and procedures in accordance with state, federal and organizational guidelines. Maintains professional growth by participating in educational programs and professional organizations and activities to maintain knowledge of current trends, practices and developments. Performs related responsibilities as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field. Three years of budget analysis, accounting or related experience. |
