*This is an Exempt position. Employees in this position are paid a salary on a monthly basis and are not eligible to receive overtime pay.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Monitors the billing function for assigned departments. Develops effective collaborative work relationships. Monitors charge capture and coding functions to ensure accurate and timely coding for appropriate reimbursement. Monitors the accounts receivable of assigned departments to ensure appropriate follow-up of accounts and denial resolution. Holds regular meetings with managers and departmental administrators and physicians and acts as a liaison with other departments. Designs and produces reports to monitor activities and communicates findings. Maintains current information regarding coding and reimbursement guidelines for assigned departments and communicates significant changes to appropriate personnel. Monitors encounter forms for appropriateness and accuracy and makes changes as needed. Compares department reimbursement to payer fee schedules and investigates and resolves variances. Investigates and resolves variances in reimbursement or charge volume.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor's degree in business or health care administration with three years healthcare reimbursement experience, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training. Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel. Coding certification and IDX experience preferred.
