*This is a Non-Exempt position. Employees in this position are paid an hourly pay rate, on a bi-weekly basis, and are eligible to receive overtime pay for any hours worked over 40 in a work week.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Provides directory assistance, paging, answering and messaging services, emergency code processing and general information for faculty, staff, students and the general public. Processes emergency calls to alert responders to patient and life safety issues. Completes patient information requests to meet established regulatory guidelines. Provides directory assistance and connects callers with other individuals, departments and community agencies. Handles irate callers to establish calm and resolve issues. Processes conference call bridges to complete reservation requests. Interacts with callers to translate emergency needs and to determine and initiate appropriate codes. Manages pages to connect doctors, staff and patients. Places overhead pages to broadcast alerts and messages throughout Emory Healthcare. Confirms and updates staff pager status to maintain communications. Relays messages to physicians' offices to cancel appointments and to issue requests for call backs. Provides after hours answering services for medical staff and other critical on call functions to ensure continuity of care. Identifies and initiates requests to update directories, profiles and on call calendars. Revises group code forms to reduce errors and improve ease of use. Completes delegated assignments to support staff projects and initiatives. Performs related responsibilities as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience. |
