*This is a Non-Exempt position. Employees in this position are paid an hourly pay rate, on a bi-weekly basis, and are eligible to receive overtime pay for any hours worked over 40 in a work week.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Under supervision of IRB leadership, processes amendments, continuing review submissions, minimal risk new studies, non-human subject research determinations, external-IRB administrative submissions, and/or reportable events within target turnaround goals. Assists with other IRB submissions as requested. Under guidance from staff leadership or senior team member, assists with execution and tracking of agreements to rely on external IRBs and with local administrative review of studies reviewed by an external IRB. Follows established procedures and practices to ensure research involving human subjects complies with federal, state, and University guidelines. Disseminates information to investigators and IRB Committee members. Facilitates staff meetings on a rotating basis and disseminates staff meeting minutes. Assists with administration of IRB Committee meetings and related duties. May be required to attend IRB and subcommittee meetings. Uses worksheets and guidance documents to triage submissions to determine if IRB review is required. May be assigned listserve monitoring, as described in listserve SOP. Ensures the integrity and security of IRB data whether in paper or electronic format. Adheres to institutional and departmental confidentiality and security policies and procedures. Proactively follows up with investigators to ensure they are aware of time limits and deadlines. Runs reports from electronic IRB system. May perform QA/QI activities with the assistance of a lead staff member including internal and external record reviews. May write expedited letters and manage routine QA cases assigned using established written procedures. Performs related responsibilities as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent and five years of related experience or a bachelor's degree. Proficient computer skills to include MS Office Suite.
