JOB DESCRIPTION: Supports the goals and activities of GATRA, GCCR, NPCR, NAACR, and ACoS. May serve as the principle liaison for maintaining relationships with the Center for Medicaid and Medicare Services, the Social Security Administration, the Georgia Department of Vital Records, the National Death Index, the Georgia Office of Voter Registration, and Georgia hospital registrars. May supervise the configuration, testing, distribution and maintenance of all edit sets for GCCS. Facilitates communication between GCCS and GCCR with regards to data collection, reporting and quality issues; may manage and supervise the local QC activities and audits of all Atlanta metro cancer reporting facilities. Participates in regular editing and case consolidation. May coordinate and supervise, with the guidance of the Director of Registry Operations, and/or coordinate all active and passive follow-up activities. Oversees and manages the E-Path system of pathology reporting to GCCS.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree and five years of related experience in a tumor registry, OR an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training. Certification as Tumor Registrar. Extensive experience and knowledge in cancer registry database management systems and all aspects of cancer registration: local, state, national and international. Knowledge of human physiology and anatomy, medical terminology, pharmacology, ICD-O-2 and ICD-O3 coding, the cancer disease process, and SEER, GCCR, NPCR, NAACCR and ACoS requirements. Knowledge of edit sets and edit resolution. |
