JOB DESCRIPTION: The Education Administrator supports the five (5) School of Medicine Health Professions Programs with a direct reporting line to the Associate Dean for Medical Education - UME, GME, and the Health Professions. The position will work closely with the Assistant Dean for Inter-professional Education and the Health Professions.
Plans, coordinates, and oversees major educational, administrative and clinical activities including grants and contracts, budget planning, financial analysis, data processing operations, and human resources management for the five Medical Health Professions in the School of Medicine. Assists the Program Directors with collection of programmatic information that supports their decision-making authority, including overall budget development and leadership presentation and responsibility, including grant funding. Works with Program Directors and assigned departmental administrators to develop, administer and monitor the capital equipment, operations, and personnel budgets. Works with Program Directors to establish goals and objectives for the program(s); monitors progress towards their achievement.
Develops and implements various administrative programs to enhance employees' skills and to improve the effectiveness of the program(s). Reviews programs to ensure appropriateness of the size and of the department and to meet the changing demands for new offerings services. Annually reviews the tuition and student fees with Program Directors, Business and Finance and other Education Leaders. Works closely with OMESA staff to ensure consistency of services to all students. Acts as a liaison between the programs, department administrators and SOM personnel other schools/departments concerning programmatic, clinical activities and issues. Ensures required record-keeping is maintained; ensures that programs have resources necessary for accreditation. Performs related responsibilities as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree, preferably in business, finance, or higher education administrator, and seven years of professional business or management experience which includes experience in an educational or healthcare environment, OR an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
