*This is a Non-Exempt position. Employees in this position are paid an hourly pay rate, on a bi-weekly basis, and are eligible to receive overtime pay for any hours worked over 40 in a work week.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Responsible for supporting excellent donor relations for The Carter Center's Development office by handling donor requests in a timely and courteous manner, providing acknowledgment letters, and maintaining accuracy and data integrity in donor records database. Processes a high volume of gifts according to departmental and finance policies and procedures. Gift processing consists of accurately recording gift checks, payment processing with vendors, and ensuring that donor and gift information is accurate and up to date. Uses database tools and spreadsheet functions to ensure gift batches are accurate and reconciled. Additional donor administration tasks may include handling donor calls, sending out acknowledgment letters, and maintaining files and databases. Shares commonalities in donor feedback and sentiment with manager. Sends gift acknowledgement letters and recurring gift anniversary cards. Handles notifications for gifts made in honor or memory. Assists with management of stationery inventory and ordering of office supplies. At the start of each month, proofs Peacekeeper (monthly donor) records to ensure that they receive appropriate correspondence. Monitors the first point of contact for donor inquiries by phone. Collects donations, updates donor contact information, and responds to donor questions or routes inquiries to appropriate staff. Changes addresses, names, and other information as requested by donors, resolves duplicate records, and performs other database hygiene tasks as necessary. Assists colleagues with gift batching and data entry during times of high volume. Ensures department's compliance with all organizational policies and procedures. Coordinates efficient office procedures in support of department activities. Maintains professional growth and development of self by identifying educational/training programs, professional organizations, activities and resources to maintain knowledge of national trends and to promote leading edge expertise. Performs related responsibilities as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor's degree and one year of senior office administration experience, OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Good basic math skills and analytical abilities. Strong computer skills, including facility with Microsoft Word, Excel, and mail merge function. Donor services experience is preferred. Strong expertise working with donor databases (e.g. DMI, Raiser's Edge, Luminate Online), Excel, and Adobe Acrobat is preferred. |
