JOB DESCRIPTION: Leads, develops, and implements the strategic planning and management of relationships with local, national, and international corporate and foundation prospects. Partners with advancement officers, faculty, and Emory University and Emory Healthcare leadership to drive enterprise-wide efforts to increase philanthropic support from foundations and corporations, corporate executive and employee engagement, economic development and entrepreneurship, research collaborations, and corporate student engagement. Works to expand the base of private philanthropic foundation prospects and donors on a regional and national level for priority efforts within specific academic and business units and university wide. Develops, shapes, and negotiates institutional and/or programmatic project ideas for funding consideration with internal and external constituents. Oversees full cycle of relationship building, cultivation, and solicitation of corporations and foundations in support of Emory. Communicates and negotiates ideas in ways that are donor-centric, while also beneficial to Emory. Oversees the creation of proposals, letters, briefings, and other fund-raising materials. Ensures adherence to complex application and/or solicitation requirements. Maintains an active portfolio of corporate and foundation prospects with major gift potential. Manages a team within the Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations responsible for service to a set of schools and units and relationship management of a subset of key corporate and foundations funders to Emory. Travels to meet with donors as needed. Performs related responsibilities as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree and eight years of experience in fundraising or corporate and/or foundation setting with staff management experience.
