JOB DESCRIPTION: Manages multiple facets of the human resources (HR) operation in support of assigned department(s) in the School of Medicine (SOM) by serving as a consultant and subject matter expert (SME) on various HR-related matters including employee benefits, faculty and staff compensation, recruiting, employee relations, and/or training. Serves as a de-facto member of department(s) leadership structure, representing the HR Administrator and serving in his/her place, as appropriate. Works in cooperation with departmental, divisional, and SOM leadership, and University HR on pertinent issues ranging from reclassifications to employee relations matters. Develops training and education on various HR-related topics, in collaboration with the HR Administrator and University HR, as appropriate. Manages the faculty appointment and reappointment process and the recruitment of staff within the the supported departments and divisions. Serves on University and Healthcare task force and committee meetings, as requested. Performs data analysis and generates reports on all HR-related metrics in support of strategic initiatives. Coordinates the development and delivery of Faculty and Staff recognition programs intended to facilitate enhanced levels of employee engagement and workplace satisfaction. Facilitates and coordinates processes related to staff Reduction in Force (RIF), in coordination with the Employee Relations Department and SOM. May manage a staff of HR professionals responsible for transactional activities performed in support of assigned department(s). Performs related responsibilities and special projects as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources or a related field and five years of progressively responsible human resources experience as a generalist or in one of many human resources fields such as employment, employee relations, compensation, and/or benefits administration. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Experience in a lead or supervisory role is preferred. Exceptional verbal, written, and communication skills required. Experience in an academic healthcare center desired. |
