JOB DESCRIPTION: The Senior Human Resources Administrator serves as the executive HR leader and subject matter expert (SME) for a comprehensive HR Advisory Center supporting multiple School of Medicine (SOM) departments. This role sets the strategic direction for HR operations across the tripartite mission of res4earch, education, and clinical care. The Administrator functions as a key member of the leadership structure, leading a team of HR professionals to drive operational success in employee experience, compensation, talent acquisition, and workforce planning within a complex, matrixed academic healthcare environment. Serves as a high-level consultant to Department Chairs, Directors, and SOM leadership on matters pertaining to all HR functional areas. Sets the vision for the HR Advisory Center, ensuring all HR initiatives align with SOM, WHSC, Emory University guidelines and the specific operational needs of healthcare and research environments. Manages the implementation and interpretation of existing university policies. Collaborates with departmental leadership on the recruitment of key leadership roles and may oversee select search/interview committees. Leads the annual merit and performance management cycles to ensure consistency and equity. Responds to employee relations concerns on behalf of the advisory center, coordinating as needed with SOM Dean's Office, University Employee Relations, and other applicable partners such as Emory Healthcare/Physician Division and Office of General Counsel. Leads advisory center participation in annual engagement surveys; transforms data into actionable local initiatives to improve culture and retention. Uses comprehensive HR dashboards to monitor key performance metrics such as turnover, vacancy rates, and engagement goals, utilizing these insights to drive proactive workforce interventions. Leads and develops a team of HR professionals responsible for the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, training, etc. Performs related responsibilities as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources or a related field and nine years of progressively responsible human resources experience as a generalist or in multiple human resources fields such as employment, employee relations, compensation, and/or benefits administration. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered. Experience in a lead or supervisory role. Exceptional verbal, written, and communication skills. Experience in an academic healthcare center desired.
