JOB DESCRIPTION: Reporting to the Manager of Integration, leads the design and implementation of complex enterprise application integrations across Emory and its partners to meet Emory's strategic goals and business needs. Interacts with Project Managers and project teams to architect designs, leads implementations and Quality Assurance (QA) to troubleshoot the most difficult issues for maintaining the integration. Designs technical solutions for highly maintainable and reusable applications to meet Emory standards. Applies selected technologies to implement designed solutions. Designs comprehensive test plans to meet QA standards. Conducts unit tests, system integration tests, and performance tests to meet QA standards. Interacts with Integration team members to ensure applications' operability and efficiency standards are met. Determines solutions' requirements to prepare key stakeholder discussions. Provides integration solution consulting to support potential customers' decision-making. Facilitates key stakeholder buy-in to garner support for proposed solutions and to obtain project commitments. Prepares solutions' alternatives to rank-order and recommend designs. Validates requirements to develop cost analyses for supporting recommended designs. Reviews proposed designs to ensure conformity with Emory architecture and security standards. Documents steps taken to support applications migrations to the next environment. Submits production support tickets to ensure proper set-up of database tables, access to firewalls, and message transport objects. Determines levels of monitoring required to provide adequate application support in production. Verifies required sign-offs to ensure the migration is complete and successful. Provides second level on-call support to ensure applications' operability and to meet customer expectations. Interacts with key stakeholders to ensure developed solutions meet current business needs and can be scaled up to meet future needs. Performs industry research to remain current with a broad array of current technologies. Conducts training to increase staff members' skill levels. Promotes service-oriented architecture and ESB to increase enterprise-wide awareness of applications integration solutions. Collaborates with other Emory units within and outside of OIT to define and promote integration best practices. Mentors junior team members to support enterprise integration development initiatives and to ensure quality standards are met. Performs related responsibilities as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor's degree in IT or a related field and five years of related IT experience OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Possesses and applies strong knowledge of a wide spectrum of latest technologies including service-oriented architecture, web services, enterprise service bus, OpenEAI, messaging technologies, objected-oriented design and programming, Java, JavaEE, Java application server, XML, common open source frameworks and Oracle relational database. |
