JOB DESCRIPTION: As Enterprise Data Architect (EDA), serves as the subject matter expert in data warehousing. Has responsibility for developing the overall data architecture strategy and leading the design and implementation of scaleable, robust solutions incorporating ETL, data hygiene and business intelligence. Collaborates with application designers to identify and model these integrative views and determine the quality of service requirements -- data currency, availability, response times and data volumes. Streamlines data flows and removes unnecessary costs from the complex, fragmented, heterogeneous data architecture that is found in most large enterprises. Is knowledgeable of where data is maintained and accessed throughout the enterprise. Understands the business needs as well as the technology that will be required to meet those needs, with a focus on enterprise-wide data sharing, distribution and integrity issues. Coordinates all enterprise efforts that affect data, with a focus on data that moves through the enterprise. Creates the overall architectural design of the data warehouse. Coordinates and participates in business analysis and requirements definition. Provides recommendations for data cleansing standards and processes. Designs and specifies ETL and other data movement/manipulation processes. Assists in the assessment and analysis of data quality. Performs related responsibilities as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems or a related field and five years of data warehousing or related experience, OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Knowledge of emerging trends in business intelligence. |
