JOB DESCRIPTION: Serves as the spiritual health leader for an assigned healthcare operating unit, entity or program and is responsible for management, leadership, and administration of the work of spiritual health clinicians (healthcare chaplains), the training of SHCs, and clinical service to patients, families and staff. Manages quality and productivity of spiritual assessment and counseling provided to patients, families, and staff within an assigned operating unit, entity or program. Works with and reports to the Executive Director for Emory Spiritual Health in the Woodruff Health Sciences Center to ensure the institution's mission and integration of ethical values into patient, family and staff care delivery and the scientific efforts of the spiritual health research program. Collaborates closely with various levels of management within the EHC senior leadership of the OU/entity assigned and operationally within the human resources division of the Woodruff Health Sciences Center to manage successfully all spiritual health clinicians and administrative staff personnel. Serves as an available leader in spiritual health across Emory Healthcare in monitoring, staffing, and controlling the comprehensive, integrated resources for spiritual counseling across the EHC system. Prepares and reports appropriate data to EHC and the WHSC leadership to monitor performance and progress of key initiatives and plans. Develops, implements and evaluates training programs including clinical spiritual health education (CPE) and the fellowship program in Compassion-Centered Spiritual Health. Serves as a spiritual health system leader in the Spiritual Health Actualization Group in the WHSC. Performs related responsibilities as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A master's degree in divinity or equivalent. Seven (7) years of experience in healthcare. Certified as an ACPE, Inc. Educator or a CCSH Registered Clinician and CBCT Instructor moving toward CCSH Registered Teacher. Academic medical center experience preferred. |
