*This is an Exempt position. Employees in this position are paid a salary on a monthly basis and are not eligible to receive overtime pay.
JOB DESCRIPTION: Functions as the principal investigator, co-principal investigator, or project director of sponsored projects. Has primary authority over the conduct of a project including protocol development and adherence, human subjects, personnel management and budget oversight. Publishes study results as first author or co-author. Supervises other project staff. Functions as the primary programmatic liaison with the sponsor. Performs related responsibilities as required. *Use of title in School of Medicine: Functions as the Project Director for sponsored projects within the School of Medicine. Holds primary responsibility for the operational management and execution of assigned projects, including protocol development and compliance, human subjects oversight, personnel management, and budget administration, under the direction of the Principal Investigator (PI). Serves as the primary programmatic liaison with project sponsors on behalf of the PI. May submit independent grant proposals in accordance with the School of Medicine PI Eligibility Policy and with approval from the Dean.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A PhD, DrPh, or other equivalent degree (MD). Five years of directly related work experience.
