*This is an Exempt position. Employees in this position are paid a salary on a monthly basis and are not eligible to receive overtime pay.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Provides strategic leadership and technical direction for various aspects of a large and complex Infectious Diseases program within the School of Medicine. Responsible for overall management, technical development, implementation, personnel, budget, and financial oversight of program. Builds partnerships and relationships; works with CDC, State Health Department, and/or other partners. Plans, administers, and monitors program budgets. Develops short- and long-term goals and objectives. Oversees related special projects. May represent the program in various state and national settings. May manage the solicitation of funding from foundations, corporate, individual and governmental sponsors. Collaborates with and seeks the support of representatives from other organizations. Establishes and administers policies and procedures. Ensures regulatory requirements. Supervises staff. Complies with all ethical guidelines for scientific and human subjects' research. Performs related responsibilities as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A master's degree in public health, social sciences, public administration or a related field and eight years of related experience which includes five years at a management level, OR an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
