JOB DESCRIPTION: Recommends admissions strategies which consider trends, market data, financial and scholarship constraints with a goal of expanding the candidate pool with viable candidates for consideration. Recommends appropriate metrics and accountabilities to help staff have clarity in expected goals and deliverables. Communicates and enforces values, policies, and procedures. Designs recruitment, selection, orientation, training, coaching, counseling, disciplinary, and communication programs. Supports the communications for effective performance management. Enhances admissions department and university reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. Reviews enrollment results and makes recommendations for changes in recruiting plans in order to achieve targets. Works with CBAOO and Admissions senior leadership to support admissions financial strategies by estimating, forecasting, and anticipating requirements, trends, and variances. Recommends action plans; measures and analyzes results; and recommends corrective actions to minimize the impact of variances. Works with a CRM system to track prospective student engagement and manage contacts. Supports the student experience, as needed. Represents the School with professionalism through an array of outreach programs and activities. Ensures a high level of constituent satisfaction by monitoring the delivery of ongoing information systems to the enterprise. Analyzes trends in enrollment and marketing activities, and provides recommendations to continue, modify or abandon programs based on their current effectiveness. Presents new strategies for recruitment and admission activities for leadership consideration. Creates metrics to align staff actions with the defined plan. Identifies solutions for improving performance, as needed. Keeps management apprised of key performance indicators, identifies cost-effective solutions and may authorize expenditures. Monitors or maintains budgets and grants, assists with budget development, and prepares related expense reports and reimbursements. Reviews performance reports and supporting narratives for accuracy prior to submission to external agencies, donors or internal management. Maintains working relationships with other school departments. Works closely with the alumni office, the program offices, faculty, the Career Management Office and the Marketing Department. Develops and manages efficient operations and policies for the admissions office. Ensures office activities comply with Emory policies and procedures. Supports personal and professional growth of individuals on admissions staff in order to develop a consistently high-performing team for the School. Hires, trains, supervises and evaluates a small staff or student employees. Recommends ways to improve quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes. Seeks opportunities for staff to update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organizations. Performs related responsibilities as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree, preferably MBA or Master's in Higher Education Administration, and five years of related experience in a business or educational environment, including work experience in a lead or supervisory capacity or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Preference for some MBA Admissions and/or recruiting work experience; an understanding of university admissions policies, standards and procedures. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Strong written and oral communication skills, customer service skills and analytical skills.
