JOB DESCRIPTION: The Director of Undergraduate Admissions within the Office of the Provost provides strategic leadership and operational oversight of one or more functional areas of admissions, including comprehensive and holistic review of undergraduate admission applications; initiatives that advance equity, access, and enrollment for low/limited income and first-generation students; comprehensive recruitment and travel strategies; and strategic hiring and onboarding processes for admissions staff.
Participates in committee review processes, contributes to admission recommendations, and exercises sound judgment in evaluating academic contextual and personal factors. Supports the university's mission to create meaningful opportunities for students from all backgrounds while strengthening Emory's reputation as a world-class, inclusive institution. Develops, implements, and evaluates comprehensive recruitment and travel strategies that align with institutional priorities and enrollment goals. Leads and supports strategic hiring and onboarding processes for admission staff, including search logistics, scheduling and participating in phone and in-person interviews, and serving as a primary point of contact for candidates.
Manages and coordinates complex recruitment and admissions projects that require cross functional collaboration and adherence to timelines. Oversees the travel and recruitment budget with a strategic and responsible approach. Provides day-to-day supervision and functional oversight of full-time admissions staff, supporting workload management, goal alignment, and professional development. Serves as a strategic advisor and ambassador for the university, representing Emory at conferences, professional organizations, and public events while maintaining high standards for communication, professionalism, and institutional messaging.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in business administration, education or a related field and eight years of experience in the development or administration of education, professional, or business programs or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Management or supervisory experience. A valid Georgia driver's license and an insurable driving record. Effective public speaking skills. |
