JOB DESCRIPTION: Serves as an experienced resource and subject matter expert in one or more graduate student related school-wide initiatives, programs, or areas. Provides oversight, coordination, and/or the handling of various school-wide initiatives or programs. This may include directing the strategic planning, development, and implementation of programs. Examples of school-wide initiatives include working with a specific Office of Admissions and Student Services initiative related to the functional areas of Admissions/Recruitment, Enrollment Services & Advising, Student Engagement or Career Services. As a Department/Program based advisor with Rollins School of Public Health and/or Emory University, this position serves as a model for Assistant Directors/Associate Directors of Academic Programs and readily assists with training new ADAPs, communicating with the Office of Admissions and Student Services through attendance at monthly meetings and one on one meetings with Directors/Deans in alignment with particular focus areas, and identifying innovative ways to support the student experience. Core functions of this job are: Serves as primary advisor for students within the department and subject-matter expert on the student lifecycle from recruitment through graduation. Uses an advanced knowledge of public health and/or department curriculum to provide effective student advising. Oversees and facilitates student recruitment and admissions; answers questions and arranges visits for prospective students. Participates in school wide and department level curriculum/education committees. Works in coordination with the Director of Graduate Studies/Chair to develop department level policies, procedures and supports informed decision-making. Works collaboratively with members of the Student Leadership Team to support and advance the student experience at RSPH. Performs related responsibilities as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in student administration or a related field and five years of professional student academic program experience, OR equivalent combination of experience, education, and training. A minimum of three years of experience as an Associate Director of Academic Programs and/or equivalent combinations of experience, education, and training.
