JOB DESCRIPTION: This is a Central Office position. Provides leadership and operational oversight for financial aid advising and student support functions, ensuring alignment with institutional policies, regulatory requirements, and service standards. Oversees advisor training, workload management, complex case resolution, and advising operations to support a consistent, student-centered experience. Leads outreach, financial literacy, communications, and staff development initiatives, while supporting executive reporting and stakeholder engagement. Manages assigned financial aid programs and processes, provides leadership backup as needed, and collaborates across teams to advance departmental goals and student success. Develops and administers related policies and procedures. Assumes fiscal responsibility for relevant financial aid programs. Maintains a comprehensive working knowledge of financial aid policies, procedures and regulations. Advises parents and students regarding the financial aid process for federal, state and institutional funds as needed. May facilitate training for staff. Promotes professional development for staff. Serves as a liaison with business units/schools at Emory and with outside constituents. Represents the Office of Financial Aid on behalf of the Executive Director in meetings related to compliance, advisement systems and other financial aid functions. Hires, supervises and evaluates staff. Performs related responsibilities as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor's degree. Six years of progressively responsible experience in financial aid administration, student services or enrollment management, which includes three years in a supervisory role, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Demonstrated experience managing automated financial aid systems. Strategic planning and project management experience preferred.
