Addressing Common Family Conflicts in Financial & Health Care Decision Making and Estate Planning
In this presentation, elder law attorney Paul Black will use the hypothetical story of the Walker family as a springboard for discussion of common conflicts that arise as families make decisions about the long-term care needs of a loved one. Specific topics to be addressed include: healthcare decision making by proxy (including the Georgia medical consent statute, Advance Directives, the Physician Order for Life Sustaining Treatment); the legal requirements and realities of guardianships and conservatorships; and common conflicts that arise in second marriages and after the death of a spouse.
