*This is an Exempt position. Employees in this position are paid a salary on a monthly basis and are not eligible to receive overtime pay.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Assists the Director of Building and Residential Services with the overall operations of the department. Supervises custodial staff for approximately half of university academic buildings. Develops and conducts training programs as needed. Oversees vendor contracts for equipment, chemicals and related materials. Ensures that the proper chemicals are used to clean tile and carpet. Coordinates monthly building inspection schedules. Takes the necessary precautions, in keeping with OSHA standards and other applicable federal and state regulations, when working with hazardous chemicals and materials. Provides timely disciplinary action and staff recognition according to university guidelines. Oversees the use and care of university vehicles. Adheres to established budget guidelines. Participates in the development of departmental short and long term objectives. Performs related responsibilities as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Seven years of related work experience which includes two years supervising a work crew or large staff. Two years of college is preferred. A valid Georgia driver's license and an insurable driving record. Some positions in this classification may require the ability to bend, stoop and twist. DATE CREATED/MODIFIED/REVIEWED: 12/19/07 DRS
